There are some weekends that you know are going to be special before they even get here, and this is one of those for me.
At the end of this week, I’m going to be taking a short break from baking because my family is coming into town for my brother’s ordination, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. We don’t get to have everyone together like this very often, so I’m really looking forward to slowing down, being present, and just enjoying the time we have.
I’m especially excited to be hosting my sister and her husband at my house. There’s something about getting to open your home like that - cooking, sharing meals, and just being in the same space - that feels really meaningful. It’s the kind of thing you don’t want to rush through.
Sabre is also preparing in his own way. He’s very excited to have more people to whine at for pets and to watch him eat, which I’m sure will be a full-time responsibility for everyone involved.
Because of all of that, Bread by Blaze will be taking a short pause from Friday, May 22 through Sunday, May 24 so I can be fully present for everything happening. During that time, I won’t be baking or delivering orders.
If you place an order over that weekend, I’ll still take care of it - it just may fall outside of the usual 24 - 72 hour turnaround time.
Baking will pick back up right after, but for a few days, the oven will be off, which feels strange to even say.
If you’ve been thinking about placing an order, this week is the time. After that, I’ll be back in the kitchen, probably with a few stories and definitely with something baking.
